摘要
Driving condition and welding characteristics of an ultrasonic butt welding system are studied. The ultrasonic vibration source used has eight 19 kHz bolt-clamped Langevin type PZT transducers of 50 mm diameter and is driven by a 50 kW static induction thyristor power amplifier. Adequate values of matching circuit according to welding load and vibration amplitude of a vibration source must be used to improve power factor of the welding system and to obtain maximum effective power and good welding results. Welding specimens of 6 mm thick aluminum, anticorrosive aluminum and copper plates are successfully joined end to end.
