摘要：
This paper considers the application of the uniform field theory to the study of horizontal axis coils for eddy current testing. Both the 2D and 3D theories have been investigated, the theoretical results in both cases comparing quite well with the experimental results obtained. The reasons for the discrepancies between theory and experiment are discussed, but the overall conclusion is that the uniform field theory can be applied with a certain degree of success to the study of horizontal axis coils.
