摘要
In recent years mortality in preterm infants decreased with development in neonatal intensive care units. Inspite of the advances in intensive care, increased morbidity is still a serious problem for this special group of newborns. For this reason preterm babies must be followed up more frequently than term babies for their growth, development and possible complications. In this study, 50 preterm infants with gestational ages between 24-36 weeks were followed up for 2 years longitudinally. The babies were evaluated for catch-up growth, neuromotor development, retinopathy, anemia and osteopenia of prematurity; the results were discussed in view of the literature.
