Laser-induced dissociation of hydrogen fluoride has been studied using a quantum-mechanical approach in which the fast Fourier-transform technique has been applied. The dissociation probability has been calculated as a function of the frequency of the laser and the vibrational quantum number and the results are compared with those of classical trajectory calculations. The dissociation probability from the ground state has also been calculated for a two-laser system as a function of the frequency of the two lasers.
