THE PLANE OF NUTRITION OF LAMBS IN INTENSIVE FATTENING IN LARGE-SCALE PRODUCTION CONDITIONS

A method of indexes was used to evaluate the plane of nutrition in 1985 to 1987 on seven farms with the intensive fattening of lambs (23 787 animals). Average daily weight gains of fattened lambs increased from 130 g to 158 g, a three-year average value was 142 g. The hay intake per 1 kg liveweight gain decreased from 3.036 to 2.792 kg, and the intake of concentrates from 5.119 kg to 4.195 kg. A comparison of the feed intake with the feeding standard revealed that the supply of digestible crude protein and starch units was not high enough. If the fattening is to be more effective, the formulae of feed rations must be balanced rationally (hay to concentrates rations) and the diets must contain sufficiently high amounts of feeds. Great attention should be paid to records about animals kept on the farms. This paper can be offer some data to work out the conception and prognosis of the development of slaughter animal production in the sphere of sheep breeding.
