TOWARDS LABOR DIMENSION OF GLOBALIZATION, CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS

It is a common argument when talking about globalization, the scholarly consensus concerning not univocal meaning but a plurality of meanings depending on the sectors in which influences a greater or lesser extent. However, its treatment has been predominantly from the perspective of economic and financial implications. It is generally assumed that globalization is a phenomenon that affects, thanks to information technology and communication, increased productivity and efficiency and thus contributes to economic growth. However, this paper explores the impacts from a different perspective, almost absent from academic treatment: labor dimension. Hold the premise that there is a decoupling between the analysis of globalization from the perspective of its influence in the pursuit of efficiency and economic growth through economic openness and liberalization of markets, and the need for globalization also be analyzed from labor dimension, in order to complement a comprehensive view that helps restore balance and social justice.
