摘要
Besides originally assumed air pollutants (sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides mainly) as the cause of "dying woods" carbondioxide is becoming more and more a potent atmospheric disturbant in social consciousness. The "greenhouse effect" which is caused by waste gas in the atmosphere from combustion power stations calls in question the habitableness of the earth by the menance of overheating the biosphere. But the consequences upon the pH value of the rain - even by a hundredfold intensification of current CO2 concentration in the atmosphere - is of moderate importance only. - With respect to their chemical material content (Mg- and Ca-salts, alkalinity) the oceans prove to be excellent buffering systems for the atmospheric carbondioxide concentration. Besides the assimilation of atmospheric carbondioxide by the phytoplankton the maritime carbonate sedimentation seems to be a suitable mean for decontamination of the atmosphere from large amounts of carbondioxide from combustion powerplant waste gas. The study of manifoldly interacting carbonic acid solution equilibriums in the ocean water, their Mg- and Ca-salts especially, reveals remarkably good practicable process technics. The retransformation into early earth historical epochs teaches the understanding of dolomite type formation of limestone mountains also.
