摘要
Reliability of relays, the measure of the degree of certainty that the relays will perform correctly, is the most important criteria in designing protective systems. In this paper, the reliability of microprocessor-based overcurrent relays is improved by incorporating the concept of hardware redundancy. An efficient four-relay system is implemented using the Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) technique. Based on an 8085 microprocessor, each module is a multi-tasking system that implements four overcurrent relays.
