Compared with unsaturated polyester resins (UP), vinyl ester resins (VE) possess a number of special features relating to their manufacture, processing and use. The article gives the results of a study concerned with the problems involved in the cold-curing of VE. The conclusion to be drawn from extensive laboratory experiments is that reductions in quality can be avoided by using specific peroxide grades or peroxide blends.
