TIME-DEPENDENT APPROACH TO NONRELATIVISTIC MULTICHANNEL SCATTERING

The mathematical problems occurring in nonrelativistic multichannel scattering theory are investigated with the help of Kato's work on the time-dependent abstract scattering theory. We concentrate mainly on two-body reactions in multiparticle systems; a physically intuitive form is rigorously derived for the corresponding wave-operators and a partial asymptotic completeness is proved below the three body threshold. We also investigate the relevance of the time-dependent framework for a complete detailed study of three-particle systems. This approach also leads us to establish some auxiliary results on multiparticle bound states. © 1969 Società Italiana di Fisica.
