DETERMINATION OF SPIN AND RESONANCE PARAMETERS FOR 197AU+N FROM 1000EV TO 2100EV

Experiments on gold have been performed with the Saclay linear accelerator using the time-of-flight method. Resonance parameters are given for 69 resonances, the spin value being assigned to 57 ones: 32 J = 2, 25 J = 1. Taking into account the previous results in the energy range 10-1000 eV, the strength function dependence against neutron energy and spin value is discussed. The number of levels detected from 10 to 2000 eV (122 levels) permits one to study the statistical properties of the levels (mainly levelsspacings) and to calculate correlation coefficients ρ{variant}. A correlation between ρ{variant} (for neutron reduced widths) and S0 J=1, ρ{variant} and S0 J=2 is found. This effect is discussed. © 1969.
