Young man with amaurosis fugax

Traumatic or spontaneous dissection of neck vessels is not a rare cause of stroke. The pathogenesis of arterial dissection is often multifactorial and difficult to diagnose if not suspected, generally with good clinical outcome. We report the case of a young man with amaurosis fugax, with suspected carotid dissection confirmed by complementary diagnostic studies. A wallstent was used for endovascular treatment of carotid artery dissection and pseudoaneurysm with good midterm clinical outcome.
