A study of functional activity of segmentonuclear neutrophil granulocytes of the peripheral blood in 20 patients with subleucemic myelosis (SLM) and 20 patients with polycythemia vera (PV) revealed in the latter an increase of the functional activity of phagocytosis, oxygen-dependent metabolism and enzymatic activity were more pronounced than in SLM. Non-homogeneity of morphological and cytochemical indices and patients with SLM and IP may be used as supplementary differential-diagnostic criterion in SLM and IP.
