摘要
Science Communication, area of knowledge with different contexts, approaches and understandings, has gained importance and legitimacy more for the practice of multiple actors than the theoretical and methodological reflection. This makes than the boundaries of its subject matter, visions and assumed models are different and not always lead to answers and impacts in accordance with Cuba needs and development goals. This research focuses on the problem What are the main conceptual appropriations on Science Communication made by professional practitioners and scholars in the Latin American context and in Cuba?; proposing as general objective to systematize these appropriations, over the past five years. From a qualitative perspective, analyzing the literature, memories of events and interviews with experts and practitioners, the results characterized the Science Communication authors and major forums, objects of study, conceptualization employed, converging areas of knowledge and practitioners with their skills and training, both in Latin America and in Cuba. The relationships established between the Social Studies of Science and Technology and Communication Sciences are also discussed, revealing how they affect the formation of the Science Communication area.
