摘要
A simple two-state model is applied to estimate the nonlocal contribution to the Frenkel state polarizability, resulting from the coupling of that state with charge transfer excitons. The results suggest that in the S-1 state of anthracene and tetracene the polarizability may be dominated by nonlocal terms. An explanation of the large discrepancies between the polarizabilities measured in slightly different experimental conditions is offered.
