LUMINESCENCE AND ENERGY-TRANSFER OF CE3+, GD3+AND DY3+IN BAGDB9O16

摘要
The photoluminescence of Dy3+ mono-doped BaGdB9O16 samples or Ce3+ and Dy3+ codoped BaGdB9O16 samples excited by UV light and the dependence of Ce3+ and Dy3+ luminescent intensities on compositions have been studied. The results obtained indicate that both Ce3+ and Gd3+ can sensitize the luminescence of, Dy3+, the energy of Dy3+ emission originated mostly from Ce3+ ion, which absorbs the excitation energy by its f-d transition. The other parts of energy is via the Gd3+ ion. The mechanism of the energy transfer from Ce3+ to Dy3+ has been studied. It is concluded that there is a resonant transfer electric dipole-dipole interaction. According to the dependence of the luminescent intensities on the concentration of Dy3+ in BaGdB9O16:Dy3+ under the excitation 348 nm. It has been confirmed that the mechanism of concentration self-quenching of Dy3+ is an electric dipole-quadrupole interaction.
