The notion of development and the intellectual field in Latin America (1950-1980)

This article presents a systematic approach to the intellectual Latin American field in the third quarter of the 20th century, that is in the years that anticipate the advent of neo-liberalism. The study offers a historical analysis of the concept of development, as well as an exploration of the economic and cultural trends that contributed to the installment of this concept. Finally, the article focuses on outstanding features of the intellectual practices during the period.
