ANOMALOUS SCALING OF A PASSIVE SCALAR IN TURBULENT-FLOW

摘要
A phenomenological equation for the N-point correlators of a passive scalar in a Gaussian random flow with Kolmogorov scaling is derived. This equation possesses an approximate SL(N - 1, R) x SO(d) symmetry which is used to find its solution for N = 3 in two dimensions (d = 2). An anomalous, non-Kolmogorov scaling of the 3-point function or skewness is found in the inertial range indicating the persistence of anisotropy on small scales. In addition to its scaling dimension the angular dependence of the full 3-point function is given.
