REPEATABILITY AND REPRODUCIBILITY IN LENGTH AND ANGLE MEASUREMENTS

The article gives a theoretical and experimental determination and verification of the notions repeatability r, reproducibility R and compatibility R(c) of measurement, researching into the possibility of applying the international standard ISO 5725 (1986) in the field of the measurement of length and angle. A metrological approach to the comparison of measurement results in two laboratories as well as a statistical approach to the comparison of measurement results in many laboratories have particularly been dealt. The assessment of r, R and R(c) values is presented with six real examples of national and international comparison measurements in which the Laboratory for Precise Length Measurement in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture took part.
