摘要
The dynamics of a symmetrical dissipative double-well system within the so-called dilute-bounce-gas approximation (DBGA) is compared with an analytical calculation that takes into consideration arbitrary interactions between bounces. It turns out that the DBGA renders reasonable results as long as the considered time interval is not too large; however, the asymptotic long-time behavior described by the DBGA is qualitatively wrong due to the increasing importance of bounce interactions with increasing time. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
