摘要
The availability of high-pressure grinding rolls is heavly dependent on the service life of the wear protection on the grinding rollers. In addition to appropriate plant operation, i. e. reduced grinding pressure and more uniform feed and distribution of the, material, various solutions for forming the wear protection have been developed to achieve high operational reliability. The mining industry, which usually processes highly abrasive material has provided decisive impetus for further development of wear schemes. As well as optimizing wear protection by build-upwelding an alternative wear protection scheme was worked out using cast materials which are made as complete rollers, tyres or segments. The use of complete rollers and tyres is limited to a roller diameter of 1.7 m and a maximum temperature of the material being ground of 110-degrees-C They are therefore mainly used for preliminary comminution and hybrid grinding. Although profiled segments (PROSEG) give rise to higher investment costs, their advantages - shorter installation time and significantly longer service life of well over 20000 operating hours - mean rapid pay-back. Profiled segments can therefore be the better solution when all costs are taken into account.
