摘要
False and real beginners together in the classroom, poor and good learners in the same group, or even groups with different social levels, seem to disrupt the flow of a lesson, in this case, foreign language learning. Sometimes teachers tend to believe that having groups with similar background or competence is more suitable to promote the learning process. This article will focus on the Learning Styles Inventory designed by David Kolb (1984) and on the theory of the socio-constructivism of how knowledge is constructed, regarding heterogeneity concerning social background, learning pace and previous or no knowledge of the target language. Dealing with these differences together with a communicative view of language may enhance the learning process.
