摘要
Selectively absorbing surfaces have been prepared on bright annealed austenitic stainless steel type AISI 304 by two different chemical oxidation methods: immersion in aqueous acid and in molten sodium potassium nitrate baths. Various immersion times and temperatures have been used and the solar absorptance and thermal emittance were measured for each set of conditions. The oxide surface showed a decrease in total solar absorptance with increasing incidence angle of the beam. Thermal and chemical stability tests have also been carried out on the surfaces. The SPN surfaces exhibited the better high temperature stability as a consequence of the higher oxidation temperature.
