摘要
After the World War II, Turkey's foreign policy was mainly shaped within the framework of diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union has a great effect on Turkey's rapprochement with the United States of America from 1945 onward. It could be stressed that the Soviet threat concerning especially the Straits and eastern frontiers right after the war fueled Turkey's journey towards west and the United States. On the other hand, this one-way journey partially restricted Turkey's foreign policy in terms of having multiple alternatives. Turning towards the West, reaches back to the establishment of the Turkish Republic, became the only choice and gathered speed at this era. Thus, Turkish Republic's moderate relationships with Soviet
