摘要
This article explores the role of cultural competency for those who provide health care services to refugees. It illustrates how cross-cultural communication is a "receiver phenomenon," placing a special burden on the sender to ensure effective cross-cultural communication by understanding the patients' individual needs within a cultural context. The article also provides practical tips to improve cross-cultural communication and navigate the language barriers that occur when working with refugee populations.
