摘要
Geothermal exploration in non-volcanic areas is said to rely on geophysical techniques to identify the reservoir, as it is unable to resort to volcanological methodologies. A brief description is therefore given of the contribution that can be obtained from certain types of geophysical prospectings. An important condition for the existence of an economically attractive geothermal field is the presence of an adequate heat anomaly in the shallow crust. Volcanology appears to provide the best approach for investigations of this anomaly.
