摘要：
Principles of computer-aided production of scientific documents are described. The historical development of text-editing and formatting systems, and the differences between these systems on one side and document-producing systems on the other side are elaborated under the aspect of immediate user interaction and logical structuring of documents. The "man-paper interface", i.e. considerations of perception and acceptance of printed vs. computer-readable media, are shortly discussed.
