UNSOLVED PROBLEMS CONNECTED WITH DANISH HISTORICAL NATIONAL ACCOUNTS SERIES

The two long-term Danish historical national accounts series were published by Kjeld Bjerke & Niels Ussing in 1958 and Svend Aage Hansen in 1974. Recently a number of scholars have stressed the need for a new generation of long-term Danish series. The article discusses a number of unsolved problems connected with the existing series which a future revision will have to deal with. The selected problems are: a better documentation an extension of the series back to 1750, a revision of the price deflations, new series for agriculture and manufacturing industry, more attention to the informal sector revised series for investments, and new series for the Danish capital stock.
