摘要
Thromboembolic venous disease (TVE) is a significant public health problem. The Primary Care physician (PCP) is an important figure in the prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of this pathology. Publishing a document that updates knowledge and proposes some recommendations in the approach to TVE should lead to a reduction in the variability of clinical care of these patients. This should also improve morbidity and mortality and patient quality of life, as well as decrease the economic burden. Two national scientific societies have promoted the creation of an interdisciplinary working group of primary care physicians and hospital doctors involved in the care of venous thromboembolism. The article presents a summary of this joint work, selecting the best available evidence that has led to this document, and which can be applied to outpatients and inpatients alike. (C) 2015 SEACV.
