摘要
A reliable analytical expression describing the descending branch of the stress-strain curve of concrete in the uniaxial tension state is developed to evaluate the first cracking load in reinforced concrete subjected to direct tension. A critical steel reinforcement percentage is derived that allows the use of full ductility in tension of concrete and maximization of the cracking load. Design considerations aimed at establishing the safety coefficient of such a member are also provided.
