ON THE STABILITY OF A NEWMARKS SCHEME-BASED PREDICTOR-CORRECTOR ALGORITHM

摘要：
The stability of a predictor-corrector algorithm based on the Newmark integration scheme for the dynamic response solution of structures with local nonlinearities is considered. The algorithm is found to be unconditionally stable even for the coupled systems of linear and multi-nonlinear domains. The sufficient and necessary conditions of the unconditional stability are obtained. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the procedure.
