This paper discusses the meaning of Joan of Arc, political manifestations before widespread use of the printing press, and the relevance of nationalism as a concept to the medieval period. The paper emphasizes elements of the Hundred Years' War and events leading up to the conflict, employing to Benedict Anderson's definition of Nationalism in its analysis, Imagined Communities
