摘要
Using recent atomic calculations, X-ray Ar X-VII line spectra have been synthesized as a function of electron temperature and density. These are compared with Alcator C tokamak spectra and show excellent agreement for measured values of temperature and density. Argon X-ray line ratios can thus serve as useful diagnostics of, e.g., solar plasmas for which direct measurements of temperature and density are not available.
