摘要
Introduction The economic crisis has led to a change in the consumption patterns of tobacco, increasing sales of rolling tobacco due to its lower price. This consumption is also due to the idea that it is less harmful to health. There is little work related to consumption among the young, so knowing this would be an important step toward developing strategies for the prevention and control of consumption. Aim To study the prevalence of adolescents who use rolling tobacco and its predisposing cause. Methods Descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study aimed at students undertaking Compulsory Secondary Education at public Secondary Schools in Nava (Asturias), via a self-administered questionnaire during April-May 2015. Results 6.56% (8) of respondents use or have used rolling tobacco, and among the causes of their choice, they highlight the price and the lower frequency of consumption. In addition, 34.3% (37) consider rolling tobacco to be the least harmful and 22.1% (27) give it a value of three (one being the most harmful and four being the least). Conclusion The respondents overwhelmingly believe that rolling tobacco is the least harmful, and among the causes of consumption, the cost is highlighted.
