DIGITAL PLATFORMS AND LIMITS TO THE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION

This work calls to reflect on press freedom, the right to information and social responsibility of the communication, to safeguard fundamental human rights. In that sense, takes a journey through historical moments in the exercise of press freedom, understood as the right of issuing companies, where it came into conflict with rights regarding the security of peoples. Also, from the emergence of democratic Latin American governments have assumed responsibility for regulating media concentration and enable inclusive resources for communication policy, the role of media companies as political actors is analyzed in dispute over building sense.
