摘要
Classification of concert halls according to their acoustical qualities is important to acousticians. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how techniques from fuzzy set theory can be used to combine the values of several parameters in order to arrive at an overall evaluation of concert halls. As an example, a group of objective acoustical descriptors suggested by V. L. Jordan [Appl. Acoust. 14, 253-266 (1981)] is used because these data are conveniently available. Tentative evaluation criteria and weights are given. The ranking for halls given in this paper should be considered only as an illustration of the method.
