OPTIMAL SUNNY SELECTIONS FOR METRIC PROJECTIONS ONTO UNIT BALLS

Optimal sunny selections of metric projections onto balls are determined for the normed spaces C-p(Q) (1 less than or equal to p less than or equal to infinity) and L(1)(Omega,mu), and their optimal Lipschitz constants are computed. Moreover, the uniqueness of the optimal sunny selection is proved for the Banach space C(Q). (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
