摘要
This paper explores the role of environmental psychology in addressing global environmental issues. It is proposed that these issues be studied at the local level of village, town, neighborhood, and city and that they be conceptualized as human-landscape transactions. Research directions in human-landscape relationships are reviewed. Characteristics of human-landscape transactional research are illustrated with an historical example, and, the variability in conceptualizing global issues in human terms is illustrated with examples of recent and current international environmental research programs. Suggestions are offered for the involvement of environmental psychologists in global environmental issues in landscape research at the local level. © 1991 Academic Press Limited.
