摘要
The aim of this study was to propose a non-destructive method for quantification the individual volume, stem biomass and carbon in trees in the forest remnant. The survey was done in five plots of 600 m(2). The variables measured were diameter at breast height (DBH), total height, stem diameter of standing trees by Smalian method. Every tree was measured the diameters indirectly with the Criterion RD 1000 dendrometer and compared with the measurement directly with the caliper. It was determined volume, biomass and carbon for plot. The average relative error found in the measurements of the diameter was 10%, the individual volume obtained an average error underestimated in 20%, the biomass and carbon were error underestimated in approximately 15%. Therefore, the non descrutive methodology to quantification the volume, biomass and carbon can be considered acceptable given the difficulty which is to obtain information on natural remnants.
