摘要：
A system for non destructive measurement of root surface area is presented, consisting of a video camera, a digitizer and a personal computer. During measuring plants remain in the nutrient solution. A specific calibration procedure has to be carried out for any plant species investigated. The error of the described system ranges 10%. The system is compared with other methods.
