摘要
In this article distributed measuring systems using some GSM cellular network services were described. Such systems are alternative for wire systems, especially when measured object of measurement is located far from base station, also when object is located in difficult accessible terrain (large forest areas, jungles, national parks), also when object is moving over large area. Advantages such kind of systems are large range (area when GSM is available), mobility, low cost of introducing, flexibility and easily of reconfiguration. In measuring system can by use all available data transmission services known in GSM cellular networks. Selection one of them depend on final destinations and demands on data quantity, frequency and speed transmission in system. Currently GSM networks can to transmit data at maximum speed 26.4 kbit/s (GPRS) and 28.8 kbib/s (HSCSD) for data sending and adequately 53.6 kbit/s and 57.6 kbit/s for data receiving. Possibilities and examples applications such kind of system were presented. Data transmission services, available in GSM network, were described. An application of such measuring system, designed and tested in Poznan University of Technology was shown. The results measurements of an effective data rate were presented.
