CHARACTERIZATION OF MESOPOROUS STRUCTURES OF CARBON ADSORBENTS IN TERMS OF THE FRACTAL GEOMETRY

摘要
Mesoporous structures of porous carbonaceous adsorbents have been characterized in terms of the fractal dimension. It has been shown that for these solids the fractal dimensions D lie between 2.6 and 3.0. The lowest value of D has been obtained for the SAO carbon black, whereas for the RIG, RIB and PA carbons the D-values reached the upper limit. The fractal dimension D was evaluated from the benzene adsorption isotherms measured gravimetrically at 293 K. It has been shown that these isotherms are useful for estimating the surface irregularity of porous carbons.
