Andrew Light examines the debates on restoration ecology between Robert Elliot and Eric Katz. Rather than taking on their strong metaphysical distinction between nature and culture, as some critics do, he assumes it is true and then argues that it does not sufficiently justify the critique of restoration that follows from it.
