Gilberto Freyre and the invention of Brazil: possibilities of dialogues and interfaces between history and psychoanalysis

This essay discusses some possibilities of dialogues and interfaces between history and psychoanalysis, from the research/interpretative analysis of the intellectual formation of the writer and social scientist Gilberto Freyre (1900-1987). Initially, we outlined a theoretical discussion that present us with alternatives for study and research on issues that affect freyreanas propositions about the formation of Brazil. In a second moment, rehearsed some possibilities of dialogue between history and Psychoanalysis, to identify signs that indicate the presence of fantasies and childhood memories in the construction of the historical narrative by the author, especially in his book germinal Casa-Grande & Senzala (1933).
