THE ROLE OF CRIMINOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN DRUG LAW-ENFORCEMENT BY THE POLICE - THE SITUATION IN THE FEDERAL-REPUBLIC-OF-GERMANY

In view of the ever increasing drug problem it is necessary for the police to make better and more efficient use of their repressive and preventive potential. In this context the question arises whether criminological research can make a contribution to this issue. On the basis of empirical studies an outline will be given of the research results which are useful to practical police work ranging from preparing situation reports to developing criminal and legal police strategies.
