On the 150th Anniversary of Georgiy Chelpanov

The article focuses on the life and scientific activities of the distinguished Russian philosopher, logician, psychologist and teacher Georgiy Chelpanov. While presenting some of the previously published information, the article offers a variety of little-known biographical facts revealed though close study of documents of the Scientific Archive of the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education. This historical and psychological investigation carried out by the authors fulfilled the task of supplying knowledge about the genesis of the Russian psychological thought, about the cultural-historical foundations and moral traditions of Russian science in Chelpanov's school of thought.
