摘要
Offshore installations are exposed to ship collision hazards which potentially can endanger their integrity, but more often cause serious damage requiring repairs. This paper reports on an investigation into ship/jack-up collisions. This is based on a review of collision incidents in the North Sea, finite element analysis of typical impact scenarios and assessment of the implications of the results on jack-up integrity. Finally, conclusions are drawn relevant to the design of jack-ups to withstand collisions safely.
