摘要
The data on the number and biomass of bacterioplankton, assimilabile organic matter (AOM), the rate of its decomposition and the time of its turn-over in the coastal waters of Gelendzhik Bay of the Black Sea obtained as a result of seasonal observations of 1988 are given as compared with the data of 1978. It is shown that the increase in total number and biomass of bacteria which took place during the last decade has not resulted in the intensification of the processes of self-clarification. Moreover, the increase of the share of allochthonic organic matter in total AOM and the appearance of a large quantity of bacteria of allochthonic origin (bacterial threads, vibrios) nonadapted for active functioning in sea water led to some retardation in the processes of self-clarification in the bay waters.
