SINGLE-SIDED POLYMERASE CHAIN-REACTION CLONING OF THE 5'-UNTRANSLATED REGION OF THE CDNA-ENCODING SOMATOGENIC RECEPTOR FOR GROWTH-HORMONE FROM RAT-LIVER, AND CLONING AND SEQUENCING OF THE REACTION-PRODUCTS
The ligation-mediated single-sided polymerase chain reaction was used to amplify the 5'-untranslated sequence of the cDNA encoding the rat liver growth hormone receptor. The polymerase chain reaction products were cloned and sequenced. Analysis of the nucleotide sequence revealed two variants of the 5'-untranslated region of growth hormone receptor cDNA. Comparison of these data with previously published sequences demonstrated that the rat growth hormone receptor pre-mRNA undergoes alternative splicing.
