摘要
Background. Assumptions of the PPPBSuN, primarily aimed at hermetic detection of congenital or acquired hearing loss in early childhood, prompted us also to monitor the status of hearing in children threatened with the potential hearing loss risk factors. Material and methods. The 6-month-old child with suspected EIEE which is under audiological observation, as the the form of neurological diagnosis follow-up. Results. The OAEs and impedance audiometry showed no deviations from the norm. The potential hearing loss can be interpreted only in the AEP examinations. Conclusions. Incompletely understood etiology of encephalopathy, as well as potential ototoxic risk of epilepsy treatment are a sufficient background to continue the hearing loss monitoring. Ambiguous auditory brainstem response audiometry in youngest children with symptomatic epilepsy indicate the need of hearing monitoring in succession.
